Progress shot from today. Enjoying December and started working on the next miniature portrait doll. I was surprised how quickly the first person on instagram guessed who it was! and that was on an earlier stage with little detail and no ears! Must mean I've done something right, but it also adds presure to not f*** it up haha. After then posting another couple of clips with a bit more progress, a lot of people came through with the right guess as well - in fact, with the exception of a couple of people guessing 'Bruce Willis' (which to be fair, could have to do with the big bald head), I believe everyone guessed correctly; Tom Hanks. I'm not sure how much more time I'll be able to set aside to work on him this week, but hopefully I'll be able to finish the head, hands and feet - that would conclude all the visible, sculpted pieces.

I'm having a lot of fun with these - it's been a few years since I made a serious miniature doll and I really enjoy getting back into it. Not that dolls were ever my focus, but it's a lot of fun and making the 'portrait' versions add that little extra. I enjoy making 'anonymous dolls' as well though - but I think the fascination with the portrait dolls go back to my first/oldest hobby which is drawing, portraits were one of my favorite things to draw.. This is a bit different though, trying to capture all angles in one coherent piece and on a much smaller scale.

And also; a picture of the finished MJ doll - though it still isn't the best. Will figure out a setup and get some proper pictures at some point.
